Most CRM software vendors provide little if any assistance with CRM training and setup for small businesses.  Once you have chosen a suitable CRM Software Solution, it is very important to have the software properly set up and to receive proper training on how to use the system to it’s full potential.  Without this training and setup you are likely going to become quickly frustrated with the results you are getting and you will probably give up all-together.  

For a small business, time is everything.  There is no time to spare or time to start over again.  You must set your CRM software up properly in the first place if you expect to see positive results.   If you take this first step seriously, you will reap the benefits of increased sales and increased efficiency with little effort.  Once your team is comfortable with the CRM system they don’t have to wonder what to do.  The software will tell them who to contact, when to contact them and also provide instant access to all of the activity that has occurred up to that point.  It is not unusual at all for a small business to see a 15-20% increase in sales within a few short months and some may actually double sales if they were handling leads very poorly before they started using a CRM solution.

  • Devising a CRM action plan to fix any weaknesses or to enhance effective ones
  • Building sales processes and automating daily tasks within the CRM
  • One-on-one training time with each CRM user, walking through all of the steps necessary to use the software effectively
  • Data mining and reporting features are explained to team members who need access to that data
  • Success reviews (typically after a few weeks, then a couple months and finally around one year) to ensure everything is operating smoothly
  • Ongoing tweaks and updates to existing processes
